The Board
The Board of the Waterfall Springs Foundation comprises of five business executives responsible for its strategic direction and financial affairs.
Lloyd Oldfield
Chairman and Founder of Waterfall Springs
Founder and Company Director of Trading Company
In 1990, businessman and entrepreneur Lloyd Oldfield committed his private property and facilities located on the NSW Central Coast to conservation initiatives. Lloyd spent almost 10 years trying to interest the State Government in a plan to move 33 brush-tailed rock wallabies from Kawau Island, New Zealand. After obtaining the necessary statutory permits, the mission was planned and implemented by Lloyd and his five private sponsors at a cost in excess of $200,000.
"I grew up in the country and I've seen species of small wallabies becoming rare or extinct," Oldfield says. "Someone has to do something to save these species. It's not for anyone or any commercial interest, it's for the animals."
Now a custom built Sanctuary of over 30 purpose built enclosures Lloyd continues his vision to see the recovery of endangered rock-wallabies by continuing to attract funds to assist with running the highly innovative captive breeding programs as well as looking after the expanding population of wallabies at Waterfall Springs.
